DSP Award Recipient - Stacey Hopkins

The Portage County Board of Developmental Disabilities is proud to recognize Stacey Hopkins as the Portage DD Direct Support Professional (DSP) Award Recipient for the month of July.   Stacey is an employee of Buckeye Residential Solutions and was nominated by Christina Hemberger.

Here is what she had to say about Stacey:

Stacey goes above and beyond in every way. She is my sons DSP. She’s always spending her paychecks on him and spoils him like crazy. She what’s become part of our family. She will come on her days off to take him places. She will even come get my daughter and take her shopping. She’s always got a smile on her face. When she’s not on the clock, she will call to check on Paxton. If he’s in the hospital she will make a special trip to visit him. I could go on for days on how amazing Stacey is! Jill Gunther knows just how special Stacey is!

Jill states,  for as long as I have known Stacey, from working with her at Hattie Larlham (way back) to now with Paxton, she has always made the people in her care a priority.

She is always compassionate and professional. She not only takes on the responsibilities of managing a person’s health and well-being but also makes sure they have a happy and full quality of life. She treats the people she serves like family. She is truly a blessing to the individual and family she helps.  I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award.

Christina also added that Stacey worked at Hattie’s previously for over 20 years and has purchased all her kids at Hattie’s clothes and body wash out of her own pockets! She’s truly a blessing and goes above and beyond in every way!

Shelley Thome from Buckeye Residential Solutions stated that Stacey is amazing and  she provides quality care to the individual she works for. The guardian of the individual is always speaking so highly of Stacey and how she goes above and beyond. Stacey also follows all Buckeye’s guidelines and policies and always turns in her paperwork in completed and accurate. She is one of our top 10 employees.
