Meet Ryan, our newest Tech Mentee at Portage DD!

Ryan Schultz has always been curious about technology and eager to learn something new. That’s what inspired him to become a Tech Mentee at Portage DD.

Since joining the program, Ryan has enjoyed getting hands-on experience with a variety of technology projects. Some of his favorite tasks have included setting up tablets, installing updates, working on websites, and learning alongside Ryan and Tim. Every new project has given him an opportunity to build his skills and confidence. Ryan first learned about the Tech Mentee opportunity through a newsletter from his SSA, Deb Gordon.

Looking ahead, Ryan hopes to continue expanding his technology knowledge by learning coding, setting up technology displays, and tackling more complex computer issues. His long-term goal is to continue his tech education and, if the opportunity arises, attend school for technology. He also hopes to use the skills he’s gained to find a career where he can help others.

Ryan chose to work at Portage DD because of the impact the organization has had on his own life. “Portage DD has been a major part of my life,” he shares. “After all of the services they have provided me with, I wanted to return the favor and help out. I thought it would be an amazing opportunity to learn more and gain a higher skill set.”

Outside of work, Ryan describes himself as a happy-go-lucky, fun-loving person. He enjoys spending time outdoors, exercising, playing video games, and making memories with his family. Ryan’s enthusiasm for learning, positive attitude, and commitment to helping others make him a valued member of the Portage DD team. We look forward to seeing where his technology journey takes him next!
