Each year, the Portage County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Portage DD) releases an annual progress report to update the community on the operations of our organization and how we’ve worked toward meeting the goals set in our Strategic Plan.

Summary: The 2025 progress report for Portage DD shows that the agency spent more money than it brought in during the year. The agency earned about $21.32 million in revenue, but it spent about $24.13 million. This gap happened mainly because the agency had to pay for a significant increase in the “waiver match,” which is the cost to help provide necessary services for people in our community. Unfortunately, this rise in waiver costs is not unique to Portage County; it is a difficult trend that developmental disability agencies across the entire state are currently facing.
