Message From The Superintendent - January 2026

Greetings!

We hope everyone is doing well!!

Happy New Year and welcome to 2026. We hope everyone had a great Holiday Season! May the new Year bring you joy, love, and happiness!! Here is a famous quote that I hope will bring you comfort. “The past is a closed door, the present is an open one, and the future is an approaching one.” We are looking forward to 2026 and continuing to make a difference with all the people we get the privilege to work with who have developmental disabilities!!

We want to let everyone know that Shane Kuberry, SSA, will be leaving us for a new chapter. Shane has been an SSA with Portage DD for the past three years. We will miss him!! We wish Shane well at his next place of employment!! We are in the process of finding his replacement.

We also want to announce that we have hired an SSA. Her name is Ashley Carocci.  Ashley worked at the Mahoning County Board of DD since 2011 and has been an SSA since 2018. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Her official start date was January 5th. Congratulations, Ashley, and welcome!

On January 10, we will have the Annual Basketball Shootout. This will be the Knights of Columbus' 48th year sponsoring the event. Thank you to the Knights of Columbus!!
