Message From The Superintendent - April 2026
Hello!
We hope this message finds you well!
We will once again be offering a free summer camp at the Happy Day Services Building for anyone ages 6 to 21 who is eligible for Portage DD services. There will be seven weeks of camp, with a maximum of four weeks. The camp starts June 8,2026 and ends July 31, 2026. There is no camp for the week of June 29th. Registration is still open. See the link below for more information.
DD Awareness month was packed with numerous events, and we again wanted to acknowledge the entire Community and Provider Relations Department for coordinating, organizing, and facilitating them. Great job!! Thank you also to the providers, staff, individuals, families, and community members who volunteered or showed up to support all the activities. We appreciate everyone and are grateful to be a part of the community!!

Hike Club
Osprey Loop (1.62 miles), Trail Lake Park, 605 Ravenna Rd, Streetsboro.

Movie Night - Super Mario Galaxy
LOCATION: Ravenna 7 Movie Theater - 215 W. Cedar Avenue, Ravenna
DATE & TIME: Monday, April 6th at 6:00 pm
INFO: Movie, 12 oz. drink, and boxed popcorn at no cost to persons served by Portage DD and up to three guests. RSVP required to events@portagedd.org or by calling 330-296-2839 ext. 3148. When registering, please provide the name of the person served, the number of guests, and a contact number.

Limitless art show and Sale
LOCATION: North Water Brewing Company (101 Crain Ave, Kent, OH)
DATE & TIME: Tuesday, April 28th from 4:00 - 8:00 pm
INFO: Celebrate the artists, enjoy the community, and take home original artwork. Cash sales are preferred. All artwork is priced at $50 or less, and all proceeds go directly to the artists.
We wanted to say goodbye and best of luck to Cyndi Porter. Cyndi has worked at Portage DD for over 44 years. Her last day was 3-31-26. We will miss her, but we are grateful for the extended time she spent assisting everyone here at Portage DD as an administrative assistant. Congrats Cyndi!!
