DSP Award Recipient - Carla Burton

The Portage County Board of Developmental Disabilities is proud to recognize Carla Burton as a Portage DD Direct Support Professional (DSP) Award Recipient for the month of May.  Carla is an Independent Provider and was nominated by SSA Robinette McCormick and SSA Supervisor Candie Burbick.

Here is what they had to say about Carla:

Carla joined our team during a transitional period and time of conflict for this person served. Carla assisted the team with maintaining staffing for the home and supporting the individual in remaining focused and optimistic. She has built a relationship with this individual and he feels that he can trust and rely on her to advocate "for" and "with" him. This award is an opportunity to nominate someone who has gone above and beyond to improve the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities while also promoting independence and inclusion.

Individual award recipients will receive public recognition from Portage DD and be promoted on our social media channels. Award recipients will also later be considered for Direct Support Professional of the Year.

All nominations will be kept on file for review and consideration for a period of 12 months after initial submission.
