DSP Award Recipient - Artrel Ford

Staff from Independce of Portage County.

The Portage County Board of Developmental Disabilities is proud to recognize Artrel Ford as a Portage DD Direct Support Professional (DSP) Award Recipient. Artrel works for Independence of Portage County, Inc.  and was nominated by his supervisors, Kansas Atwood and Angelique Cammon.

Here is what Kansas and Angelique had to say about Artrel:

Since his recruitment, Artrel has proven to be a great addition to our team here at IOPCI. Artrel is a reliable employee who arrives each day ready and prepared to tackle the day with a positive attitude. Leading by example, he regularly embraces change and adapts to fit the changing needs of the day. He shows a strong work ethic by consistently staying until all daily tasks are completed and takes initiative to help others without skipping a beat. Artrel regularly encourages engagement and promotes independence with the individuals he serves, and he is genuine in the care he provides. All of which, encourages others in his team to do the same, and we are grateful for the strengths he brings to our team.

This award is an opportunity to nominate someone who has gone above and beyond to improve the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities while also promoting independence and inclusion.

Individual award recipients will receive public recognition from Portage DD and be promoted on our social media channels. Award recipients will also later be considered for Direct Support Professional of the Year.

All nominations will be kept on file for review and consideration for a period of 12 months after initial submission.
